With the support of his loving family, Murray died in peace at the Brantford General Hospital. Left to mourn are his wife of 44 years Brenda (nee Hellyer), children Dylan (Carrie) and Kate, and grandchildren Isaac (Megan) and Alex. Fondly remembered by sister, Lynn, brother, Dean (Ann), and family Matt (Karen), Susie (Steve), and Lee (Darren), their children Kia, Carter, and Athea. Murray leaves his in-laws Doreen (Walter; deceased) Hellyer, Pam, Warren, and Victoria (Dave), and Marg Kotsch with their families to grieve, along with many cousins and friends.

It is with saddened hearts that Murray’s dedicated team of caregivers and their friends remember him. Murray’s family is forever grateful to Ive, Donabelle, Rizalino, Jennifer, Ana, and Marybelle for their commitment, care, and love.

In 1956, Murray moved from Montreal (a city he forever loved) with his parents Bill and Kay Wivell. Diagnosed at age 20 with Muscular Dystrophy, Murray never let it define him, and went on to become co-founder, owner, and publisher of The Tri-Ad News for 25 years; a service he always viewed as an asset to the community. By putting buyers and sellers together, he put his economic philosophy of thrift and barter into action. Whether chasing down, restoring, or racing his vintage cars, his extensive knowledge and passion for them were well known.

Family and friends are invited to gather together for a “Celebration of Life” at The Dominion Telegraph Event Centre, 97 Grand River St N, Paris ON on Sunday, November 24, 2019, 3–8pm. Please bring stories to share. How you wish to honour Murray is your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford, Ontario 519-449-1112
