Peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday January 6, 2019. Lois (nee Kenerson), of Brantford, in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late David F. Beatty (1965). Loving mother of Scott Beatty (Marilyn Panton) and the daughter she never had, Kathy Leuszler. Cherished grandmother of Kayla (Seth Shelley), JR Szabo (Jen) and great-grandchildren; Peyton, Lucas, Heathcliff, Farah and Emery. Survived by her nephews & nieces ; Dick & Judy Gleiser, Brian & Judy Gleiser, Peter & Carol Clark, Lynn & Brian Kennedy and families. Sadly missed by Pat Fedak who was a consistent, wonderful friend through this journey. Predeceased by; her parents Harry & Ella Kenerson, sisters Mary Gleiser, Verta McNabb, and nephew & nieces Eion & Janet MacKinnon, Lorriane Gleiser.

Lois began her nursing career at the Hamilton General Hospital in 1951 where she retired in 2001. After David’s passing in 1965 she continued working and raising her son with the help of her mother, Ella who passed away in 1975. Lois was a quiet, genteel lady and very thoughtful, caring and generous giving her time as a member of the Brant Historical Society, Garden Club, Brant Ontario Genealogy Society and a volunteer with other various charities. She loved her family and dogs; Daisy and Homer.

A Celebration of Lois’ Life will be held in May. Arrangements entrusted to the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Lois’ memory may be made to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, Hillside Kennels or a charity of your choice. Keith Ovington Funeral Home 519-449-1112.

Special thanks to 3 very special angels who made Lois’ wishes of staying in her home overlooking her garden during her final journey; Kathy Leuszler, Bonnie Pellow and Dawn. Lois lived & died on her own terms, always a lady of integrity.

My Nana was always faithful to her family. She was an independent, strong woman who knew what she wanted, and I hope I've been able to inherit some of those traits. I will always cherish the memories I had growing up and spending time with her. Whether it was helping her make grilled cheese, going to church bizarres, letting her spoil me at the Paris fair or having tuna sandwiches and lemonade under the shade of her backyard trees, she always made sure to let me know that I was loved. I will always miss her. Cheers to you, Nana.
